The Minidun
Language of eastern Bergonia. Spoken by more people than
any other language,
thus the primary language for
government, law and political debate. An "analytical"
language, like English, with few internal inflections and many
"helping words" and compound words Typical syntax is
subject-object-verb.
The Nacateca
Language of western Bergonia, the original language for
Shufrantei religion, culture and art. Still dominant in Berg
philosophy, and produces very powerful literature. A heavily
inflected language, with the verb nearly always coming at the end of a
sentence.

history. Since 1850 the Roman Alphabet has been used by all
Bergonian languages, but before Columbus the atrei had thousands of
alphabets and other writing systems.
